The Second Disc mourns the loss of singer-songwriter-musician-producer Keith Allison, 79, best known for his time as a member of Paul Revere and The Raiders.
The Texas-born singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist had already toured with artists including Ray Peterson and The Crickets when he was plucked from the audience at the Whisky A' Go-Go and groomed for stardom on the weekday music show Where the Action Is. In a classic case of "right place, right time," busy session musician Allison was at the Whisky to get Tommy Boyce or Bobby Hart's signature on a voucher for having played on a demo of theirs. It happened to be the first day of production at the venue for Dick Clark's new ABC-TV show set to premiere on June 28, 1965. "They said they needed people in seats," Allison told TSD's Joe Marchese in 2014, "so one of the dancers grabbed me. She pulled me in a seat and grabbed my little leather cap and put it on her head, and I clapped along with the music. They took a couple of camera shots and [they] got a landslide

Keith Allison, Member of Paul Revere & the Raiders, Dies at 79
Keith Allison, the singer, songwriter and musician who was a member of Paul Revere & the Raiders and performed on songs recorded by Sonny & Cher, Ringo Starr, Harry Nilsson and The Monkees, has died. He was 79.
Allison died Wednesday of natural causes at his home in Sherman Oaks, a family spokesperson announced.
The Texas native also recorded and performed with the likes of Roy Orbison, The Beach Boys, The Righteous Brothers, Chuck Berry, Alice Cooper, Rick Nelson, The Crickets and Johnny Rivers.
Allison was a member of Paul Revere & the Raiders from 1968-75, singing and playing bass, guitar and organ. In 1967, he co-wrote with bandmate Mark Lindsay the bluegrass song “Freeborn Man,” recorded by him, Glen Campbell, Jerry Reed and scores of others over the years.
He contributed to albums by The Monkees, including their self-titled 1966 debut, 1967’s Headquarters and 1968 Head, and he co-wrote “Auntie’s Municipal Court” with fellow Texan Michael Nesmith f

Allison Keith-Shipp is an American voice actress who is best known for her English-dubbing work with ADV Films on anime movies and television series as Neon Genesis Evangelion, in which she voiced the character Misato Katsuragi. Keith was introduced to voice acting by Amanda Winn Lee when they were in an improv troupe together, and began with the part of Gamera in Gunsmith Cats;[4][1] she cites Sakura in Blue Seed as her favorite character. She has a bachelor's degree in theater from the University of Houston,[1] and a teacher's certification. She used to live in New York and Los Angeles doing occasional work for Central Park Media and Bandai Entertainment. In 2009, she reprised her role as Misato Katsuragi for the Rebuild of Evangelion films for Funimation, and has been doing voice work for Sentai Filmworks.
Personal life
Keith is married to Todd Shipp, and they have two children.[1] Outside of voice acting, she has worked as a teacher, and realtor.[5][3][1]
