Andrés Gabetta

Andrés Gabetta is one of the most promising Baroque violinists of his generation.

He is a regular guest at major international festivals, including the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Rheingau Music Festival and the Bachwoche in Ansbach. He also appears regularly as a soloist and chamber musician at the Lucerne Culture and Congress Centre, the Musikverein and the Konzerthaus in Vienna, the Salle Gaveau in Paris, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Philharmonie in Berlin and Cologne.

Since 2011 he has made a lifelong dream come true, leading his own Baroque orchestra with his sister, the cellist Sol Gabetta. As concertmaster of the Cappella Gabetta, Andrés Gabetta shares the stage with musical personalities such as Sol Gabetta, Giuliano Carmignola, Vivica Genaux, Simone Kermes, Gábor Boldoczki, Sergei Nakariakov and Maurice Steger.

His other regular musical partners include leading Baroque cellist Christophe Coin, with whom he has already recorded many different projects, including Félicien David’s Trio and Quintet and H

The «Cappella Gabetta» has enabled Sol Gabetta to make one of her musical dreams come true. She, her brother – concertmaster Andres Gabetta – and a hand-picked team of highly qualified musicians from the same musical background devise repertoires of baroque and early classical music which they perform on original instruments at concerts and in the studio.

The ensemble was established in December 2010, and has already made very successful guest appearances in Paris (Salle Gaveau), Hamburg (Musikhalle), Munich (Prinzregententheater), Zurich (Tonhalle), Berlin (Philharmonie) and Istanbul, as well as at illustrious festivals such as the Bremen Music Festival, Festival Baroque de Lyon, Rheingau Music Festival and others.

Since 2011, the Cappella Gabetta has made two recordings for Sony Music; one of its Italian baroque repertoire featuring Sol Gabetta (which includes several world premiere recordings of works by Giovanni Platti), and another on which the mezzo-soprano Vivica Genaux performs
